Merge Mansion Wiki

Events are timed occurrences in Merge Mansion that are only open for a set amount of time. Completing events can earn players various rewards from resources to items and from chests to decorations. Many events contain a lot of story elements from dialogue to item descriptions. Events start and end at the same time for all players, except for Story Events, where you can trigger the repeating part of the event at any time of your choosing until you complete the overall event.

Several new event types were introduced during 2024 and some older event types have become rare or possibly nonexistent. Some of the new events have only been available to randomly selected accounts and might have different internal rules between different test groups. A few of them also have very different game mechanics from the traditional merging (for example, in Secret Supply you play a slot machine). Many players have also been entered into a collection card game where the card packs have replaced many other rewards across all the other areas of the game.

Event Access Buttons[]

File:EventCalendarButton.png

Story Events are accessible via the Calendar Button on the top left corner of the main mansion grounds view. When the repeatable part is active or has unclaimed rewards, there is also another, triangular button immediately above the main Garage Button. The repeatable part can also be triggered from the main view task, which is also listed in the Tasks view (below whatever Area tasks you might have open). You can only play one Story Event at a time. (Note: these images are outdated, but the current buttons are similar.)

There are many other event types that also have their own access buttons from the left edge of the main view between the Garage Button in the bottom left corner and the Story Event Calendar Button on the top. The left edge of the view can become rather crowded when several events are running at the same time, sometimes to the point that the buttons overlap.

The changing buttons at the right edge of the main view generally contain various paid offers, many of them related to the currently running events. The offers can make it easier to complete those events, but they don't guarantee that the event is possible to complete.

Some events only have the main view buttons, some are only accessible from the Tasks view (above whatever Area tasks you might have open), and some have both.

Many events that have a separate Event Garage Board or another kind of separate event view require you to claim a separate access gate from the Tasks view. You must add that gate to your main garage board if you want to play the event, but you can choose not to.

Previously you may have needed to complete a task (typically one requiring a Leaf Rake Leaf Rake) to earn the access gate, but lately the gate has been ready to claim immediately when the event starts.

Each access gate and event button is unique to that event type.

Gameplay Tips[]

See also: Event Mechanics

  • In the early years of the game events rarely overlapped (unless you still had a Story Event session going when another event started), but these days several events are frequently running at the same time.
  • You can have multiple entry gates on your main board, although you don't have to claim all the gates if you don't want to play all the events.
  • An entry gate disappears when the corresponding event ends but cannot be removed otherwise after you've claimed it.
  • Events that don't have a separate Event Garage usually start immediately and cannot be opted out of, although you can of course ignore any event tasks.
  • If the event takes place on a secondary board, claim or use up all XP Star (I) XP Stars, Level 3 Gold Coins, other merge drops, Level 5 Energy, Level 01 Unlimited Energy, and CurrencyGemsGems that you happen to have on your event board before the end of the event. Otherwise they'll be lost. If you forgot, you can try contacting the in-game support -- sometimes they give people their more important resources back upon request, but there's no guarantee.
  • If the event takes place on a secondary board you can usually sell all event items before the event ends if you want to maximize the event output, since the Event Garage is cleared at the end of every event. On Story Event boards the items have regular level-based prices, but on other event boards they generally only give you one Level 1 Gold Coin (L1) per item regardless or the level. It's up to you whether you find that worthwhile.
    • Selling all items backfired at the first run of Lost Gemstones, when the progress of the slowest item chain was unexpectedly retained on the second run of the event, and those who had sold those items had to start again from scratch. On the second run those items were no longer sellable, but it's possible that we'll get some other event with similar logic in the future too, where the first iteration contains the same issue.
  • If the event takes place on a secondary board, some of the rewards may still end up to the main board's reward slot.
  • If you are already actively playing when an event starts, you won't get the popup until you return to the main view, and the Tasks view often doesn't scroll you automatically to the very top where the new event is hiding.

Story Event Gameplay Tips[]

  • You can start a Story Event session from the Calendar Button on the top left corner of the main view.
  • Different Story Events have different lengths for the Story Event sessions. For the Ignatius Boulton event it's currently only 3 hours, for the other two it's 3 days.
  • More reward items means less time waiting around for the reward producers to recharge.
  • You can only play one Story Event at a time. The next one cannot be activated until the final item of the previous Story Event has been turned in.
  • When you turn in the final item, all items related to that Story Event turn into single coins. You can sell them for a slightly better price before turning in the final item -- except for one last producer, since the game now prevents you from selling your last producer of any given type.
  • If that last producer doesn't turn into a single coin after you turn in the final item, you need to contact in-game support to get rid of it.
  • Don't forget to claim the rewards of your final run of the repeatable event, even if you don't actually need them for completing the final item. Unclaimed rewards can block you from progressing to the next Story Event.
  • If you can't progress to the next Story Event regardless, contact in-game support.
  • Once the final item has been turned in it's not possible to return to that Story Event anymore.
  • If the Ignatius Boulton event hasn't been completed and the Level 13 Stone Can turned in, you cannot receive any decorations that modify the statue of Ignatius Boulton. That can block you from completing some decoration events.
  • The Ignatius Boulton event used to be the best option for farming coins, but those days are long gone. These days any secondary board event that generates a lot of double bubbles is a better investment for your energy. Remember to merge the Level 3 Gold Coins from those double bubbles all the way before claiming them, for the highest gains and extra XP Star (I) XP drops.
  • Ignatius Boulton event in particular is no longer available to most long-time players, so most people who edit this wiki have no way to test it anymore, and the information regarding it gets easily outdated. The event has changed a lot along the years, so be on the lookout for any further changes.

Event Types[]

There are many different types of events. They can be divided into various categories that in reality overlap partially, but the Event lists on this page aspire to avoid duplicates.

The oldest event type is a Story Event or Permanent Event. There are currently three permanent events that become available when you progress through the Areas. You can only play one permanent event at a time. They each have two parts, where the main, repeatable part has a time limit and is played on its own event board. The second part of the Story Event is played with the reward items from that repeatable event. After you have unlocked the Story Event you can replay the repeatable event at any time of your choosing until you have built and turned in the final item in the second part of the Story Event.

Permanent events are sequential, which means that you must complete the previous permanent event before the next permanent event is unlocked (e.g., completing the Hood Ornament event is required to unlock the Beach Sign event). You must also claim the final rewards from the repeatable part of the event before you can move on to the next event, even if you don't happen to need those rewards anymore. Once you have claimed the last rewards and turned in the final item in the Story Event task in your Tasks view, you will no longer be able to access any part of that Story Event and all the items related to it will turn into single coins.

The second type are Seasonal Events, which occur for a limited time and are traditionally associated with something seasonal, such as Christmas or the harvest time, although we have also grouped into this category some otherwise similar events that don't have any clear seasonal connections. Starting with the 2021 Halloween event, Seasonal Events occur throughout the year and often reward you with decorations to seasonally adorn your mansion grounds. Those events are also often called Decoration Events, although sometimes it's possible to earn decorations via other means as well (e.g. by earning the first or second place in a seasonal Leaderboard Event).

Generic Event[]

Generic Events occur at periodic intervals throughout the year and can even occur several times throughout the same year. They have generally been good ways to increase the level of your as rewards have often included Level 4 Piggy Banks and Level 1 Brown Chests and Level 1 Fancy Blue Chests, although as of early January 2025 it has been quite some time since we've seen many of the old fan-favorites among the newer event types.

Lucky Catch and Lucky Snap are a mix of Generic Event and Collectible Board Events that likewise use their own (purple) energy with the same logic as the Leaderboard Event energy does. If both types of special energy events happen to run at the same time, you get a random selection of the energy drops, not both at the same time. There is a collection view for listing the biggest fish and the highest quality bird photos across all runs of these events. Unlike Leaderboard Events the main rewards in Lucky Events come from a progression bar. It takes a whole lot of resources and quite a bit of luck to complete one of these, but the lower level rewards can be reached with no purchases and there are usually a few gem drops too within the event board. One Lucky event usually runs for a few days at the beginning of a new Progression Event that offers a Mystery Pass.

Leaderboard Event[]

Leaderboard Events are competitive events. When you claim the event gate you are placed in a random group of up to eight players who have claimed their gate around the same time as you did. During the event the players compete against each other to see who can earn the most event points. When the event ends the top five players are given rewards based on their leaderboard position, while the last three players only get whatever other rewards they might have earned during the event. In some events there might be a few gems or card packs, in other events all the rewards might be event items that disappear when the event ends. It takes a whole lot of resources to actually complete one of these events, but the main rewards come from the leaderboard and there the difficulty level depends on the people within your group. Some groups are very chill, others are insanely competitive.

Unlike most other event types, Leaderboard Events usually use their own type of (blue) energy and you can earn more of it from regular gameplay in other areas of the game. Some items that drop from regular and other event producers contain an energy symbol and you can obtain that energy point by merging, selling (even if you undo the sale), or turning in that item to some task. Purchasing a double bubble that has the energy indicator gives you the indicated amount of energy, and the more expensive the bubble the more energy it usually rewards.

Collectible Board Event[]

Collectible Board Events are events where one of the goals is to complete some item collection across multiple runs of the same event. There are separate rewards for each event instance's internal progression and the collection progression. Veil of Fate and Lost Gemstones are examples of this event type, although they haven't been separated into their own category. In Veil of Fate there is no collection view, but the collection in question is the event point item chain -- on the first run each level must be claimed separately before it's possible to merge them higher, but on subsequent runs that requirement is no longer there.

Garage Cleanup Event[]

Cleanup Events allow you to take items you have made on your main garage board and use them to redeem for rewards in a special board similar to a Bingo card. You generally gain a small amount of coins when you turn in items one at a time, and when entire rows, columns, diagonals, pictures, and/or even the entire board are turned in, the more rewards you receive. The available reward combinations are listed underneath the board and can be completed as many times as they fit separately on the board (i.e. one Garage Cleanup board might give you rewards for 5 rows, 5 columns, 2 diagonals, and 1 full board). Each Garage Cleanup board gives you a Garage Cleanup Box that you can add to your main board to help with the cleanup item generation.

Some events that have a separate event board can also have event-specific Garage Cleanup events. They work basically the same way as Garage Cleanup Events that occur on the main board, but there is no Garage Cleanup Box and the rewards are usually event items, and in some cases event points. Completing the Event Garage Cleanup boards might either help or hinder the completion of the parent event, depending on the required items and the rewards.

Other Events[]

Level 1 The Daily Scoop is a current feature that combines daily tasks with a week-long reward bar. The difficulty level varies daily and weekly, as do the rewards. A major number of tasks rely on collecting XP stars. The better the rewards, the higher the chance that at least some of the days are going to require significant amounts of XP to complete. The tasks are completed automatically when the requirements are filled, but you must claim the progress rewards and the chest from completing all daily tasks by visiting the event page before the progress resets. There is a red dot on the access button whenever there is something to claim. If you miss some Daily Scoop tasks, you get extra tasks on Sunday that allow you to catch up, but the XP requirements for those are generally much higher than the main task requirements.

Despite the (almost) continuous nature, the weekly shared goals (although the daily requirements might vary) make the Daily Scoop more event-like than the individual Daily Trades (legacy feature) that replaced the Daily Tasks. The access button for the Daily Scoop is among the other event access buttons at the left edge of the main view.

Level 1 Secret Supply is a recurring gambling event that has been repeating once per each Mystery Event that offers a Mystery Pass, usually during the final few days. It is an extremely difficult event to complete and requires a large amount of gems and a whole lot of luck, and it is possible to sink significant amounts of real money into it without reaching the final rewards so it is advisable to take that into account when considering whether player should aim for the final reward or settle for the lower rewards and the few gems you can occasionally get from the machine. The event uses its own energy and has no way to gain more from any in-game actions outside the event itself. The additional batteries, as a representation of energy for the machine, can be bought with real money in the event shop. The entry gate does take one slot from your main board.

Level 1 Teatime Delight is a frequently but not constantly recurring new event where you can earn rewards by playing other parts of the game enough. You earn event points by tapping out items from producers, purchasing double bubbles, completing tasks, and buying things from the Shop (amounts are indicated with pink teacups). If it runs at the same time with Lucky or Leaderboard Events, you can now get both teacups and the event energy from the same double bubbles (earlier it was one or another, not both). You can only see the current task and what the final reward will be, but not how many tasks there are left before you reach it. Most people won't reach the end with regular gameplay. It's not possible to opt out of Teatime Delight, but for the most part it runs itself and automatically claims the rewards, which can also include producer parts.

Level 1 Boulton Legacy is an almost constantly recurring week-long leaderboard event for end-game players (there is a 2 hour break between one round ending and the next one beginning). Again you gain points by playing other areas of the game. Gaining a high amount of points allows you to progress to a higher level for the next round, with better rewards but also tougher competition. Gold level is the highest.

Level 1 Clue Collection is a card/photo collection game where you attempt to complete Clue sets for individual rewards and eventually complete the whole Case and get the grand reward. The lower level sets offer to earn a player some energy, but the higher level sets also reward an item or gems. Various rewards contain the Level 5 Clues Envelope. Duplicate cards earn you award stars that you can use to purchase a new card pack and some energy, although there is no guarantee that the card pack contains anything else than more duplicates. Each purchase with duplicate stars has a timeout, which increases with the level of the purchase, so it's inadvisable to hoard too many stars at once.

Seasonal Events[]

  • All seasonal events require the player to reach Level 12 and to have at least 2GB of system memory.
  • All seasonal events have their Event Gate, through which a player enters the event.
  • Most of the Seasonal Events rewards are decorations (details are described on each event's respective page).

  • The Story Event gives you access to a unique garage setting in which the event items can be merged, and a separate Event ProgressEvent XP bar for the event. This garage is accessible during a Story Event session through a special button on top of the normal garage button.
  • There is no Inventory to store things off the Story Event garage. However, CurrencyEnergyenergy is shared between Story Events and the normal game, meaning you'll usually pause completion of normal tasks until the Story Event session is complete.
  • You start the Story Event in a new Event Garage, where most squares are packed with boxes and, once opened, reveal Items covered in cobwebs. Boxes can be opened by merging an item right next to them. Cobwebbed Items can be freed by paying CurrencyGemsGems or by merging with the same Item.
  • The goal of the Story Event is to reach the highest Event ProgressEvent XP possible (generated by one event item chain only). After completion, the game will spawn a reward item chain for use in the normal garage. The higher the level you've achieved, the more higher-level items you'll be rewarded. The event reward items are then used to spawn an additional item chain, which can be merged to complete the overall task.
  • At the end of each Story Event session, the event garage is no longer accessible. If you repeat the event, you will lose all your progress in the previous round (but not the already earned reward items) and need to start over. However, you can keep replaying to get higher level reward items until you finish the task that activated the Story Event.
  • The narrative story for the event is told through item descriptions rather than dialogue.

Seasonal Events[]

  • Seasonal Events only activate during the appropriate time of year.
  • The Event gives you access to a unique garage setting in which the event items can be merged. This garage can be accessed with a 'door' or a 'gate' on your main board, a button on your Tasks view, or an event button at the left side of the main view.
  • Seasonal Event Tasks (when there are any) can be viewed on the normal Tasks view and usually give Event Coins, essential Event Source Items or other usable items for the Event Garage Board. The Reward Items can be found below the relevant board, some on top and some behind any other items you might have there waiting for use.
  • There is no Inventory to store things off the event garage. However, CurrencyEnergyenergy is shared between Seasonal Events and the normal game, meaning you'll usually pause completion of normal tasks until the Seasonal Event is complete.
  • You start the Seasonal Event in a new Garage, where most squares are packed with boxes and, once opened, reveal Items covered in cobwebs. Boxes can be opened by merging an item right next to them. Cobwebbed Items can be freed by paying CurrencyGemsGems or by merging with the same Item.
  • Seasonal Events usually reward multiple decorations for the Grand Drive and/or the Gate Areas, or one big decoration next to the Grand Drive.
  • The narrative story for the event is usually told through dialogue at the beginning, when you finish certain item chains, and when you claim certain decorations. Some items also have a narrative description. Moreover, if there are tasks, those will give you further story snippets if you read them.
  • In 'old style' Seasonal Events you needed to complete the first task of the event (typically one requiring a Leaf Rake Leaf Rake) to earn the access gate to the event board, but in 'new style' Seasonal Events the gate is generally ready to claim immediately when the event starts.
  • In 'old style' Seasonal Events the button in Tasks view and the event button on the main view both took you to Event Collection Shop, where you could purchase decorations of your choice against event points. In 'new style' Seasonal Events those buttons generally take you to a progress bar where you can claim the automatically unlocked rewards (including but not limited to decorations) in a fixed order. Both variants have a button that takes you into the event board.
  • Sometimes Seasonal Event duration can be extended with real money, although there is no guarantee or advance indication when this might be the case. If the offer becomes available, it happens after the regular end time of the event.

Generic Events[]

  • Generic Events used to activate mostly randomly, but we haven't seen many re-runs of most traditional Generic Event types lately. Newer event types appear more regularly.
  • Traditionally Generic Events have been played on the main garage board, but some newer events that we've grouped under this section (Lucky Catch and Lucky Snap) have a separate Event Garage board.
  • Generic Event Tasks (when there are any) can be viewed on the normal Tasks view and usually reward essential Event Items or other usable items. The Reward Items can be found below the relevant board, some on top and some behind any other items you might have there waiting for use.
  • Generic Events that don't have a separate event board use up space for tasks on your main board.
  • As CurrencyEnergyenergy and sometimes board space is shared between these events and the normal game, you'll usually have to pause completion of normal tasks until the event is complete.

Garage Cleanup Events[]

  • Usually, in these event, there are three or four consecutive boards, which are arranged like a bingo card.
  • You need to finish the current board, before you can start the next one
  • Before starting a board, first you uncover it - at this point you can still decide whether to start this board
  • To start a board, you usually have to pay 10 or 20 Gems.
  • For playing the board, you need to have (or generate) the items pictured on the board and hand it in
  • There are two types of cleanup events:
    • Cleanup events in the main garage
      • You will need to hand in items, which you can generate in the main garage, e.g. Gardening Tools
      • You will get rewards for finishing colums/rows, diagonals and the whole board
      • Usual rewards are e.g. a few coins for handing in an item, a somewhat bigger amount of coins for finishing rows and colums, Time Skip Booster, Hourglass or Energy for finishing diagonals, and Chests for finishing the whole board
    • Cleanup events related to a seasonal event
      • You need to hand in items which are related to the currently running seasonal event
      • Instead of diagonals, the pattern to finish is usually related to the seasonal event, e.g. a Christmas Tree during the Christmas event
      • Usual rewards are related to the seasonal event, e.g. useful but rare items or - if achievable in the seasonal event - event coins

Leaderboard Events[]

  • When you start playing a leaderboard event, you will automatically join a group of up to 8 players
  • Instead of "normal" Energy, Blue Energy is used in this type of events
    • Blue Energy recharges in the same way (but slower) as on the main board. It can also be gained by buying it in the shop, or by merging things on the main board
  • To advance in the leaderboard, you need to create and merge items related to the theme of the leaderboard event, e.g. cakes in the bakeoff event
  • At the end of the event, rewards are granted according to your ranking at the leaderboard.
