Merge Mansion Wiki

Welcome to my first blog post! My name is Adamantoise and I’m the new guy here. Don’t let that affect your decision of me because I’ve actually been editing wikis for over 15 years now. I own several and even had my own on my own virtual private server, or VPS, once. There’s a lot of maintenance that has to be done to run one! Getting infoboxes to finally work was such a rewarding feeling!

Being here is as well! Like most, I grew up playing video games. And when mobile games came around I definitely jumped on board. I’ve played several different types of games over the years but in the last couple years I’ve been seeing ads for a game called Merge Mansion. The game seemed interesting. Maddie being jilted at the altar, working on a mansion that’s full of secret rooms, trap doors, the whole 9 yards. Then one day I told myself, you know the next time I see an ad for that game, I’m downloading it! And that’s exactly what I did. I instantly fell in love.

Who would thought I would have fallen in love with those little colorful icons that needed to be merged together! You know, I’m probably the most like Roddy. I’m not an engineer but I’ve been a carpenter for the last 23 years. I love building! And I love all things architectural. That’s why when I saw a game involving doing so much work on a mystery mansion I was utterly intrigued! I love trap doors, secret rooms... all architectural oddities. So I knew I had to download it!

I was trying to get through area 4, the Garage, when the Christmas event started. At first I wasn’t really that interested because I had the whole rest of the game to play and the events occur every year. But then I acquired my first decoration and it was on. I wound up getting every one of them and even bought a Golden Key so that I could get all of those rewards and the 5 special decorations! I honestly want to do that every time. In fact they just started a New Year’s event and I’m already a quarter of the way through. Even on the second in-game event. Didn’t want to finish the first but I did so (unfortunately) to acquire one of the last decorations.

Anyway I fell so in love, I decided I had to do what I usually do - make a strategy guide devoted to it. Online resources are nice but I’m old school - I like printed guides. And I could certainly picture all of game in printed form. I even decided to use the layout from the last game guides I was working on. First off was acquiring information and images.

To the wiki it was. Now see, I haven’t been on the wiki in about two years. I own or run about 20 of them. Many of them I created, while the others were ones that were created by others. I even have my I updated on the wiki for one year straight badge in a couple. I was so into it once, that they even sent me several prototype unreleased books in regards to wikis I ran to show their gratitude. I got out of it and haven’t been on in awhile except to look something up every once and again.

I didn’t exactly plan on getting involved at first but l love the game and truly fell in love with the wiki and everyone here! I started doing what I do on every wiki I love called “An Alphabetic Swipe of the Wiki, from A to Z” where I go through every page in order and unify everything between pages. Rewriting the intros of each page for uniformity and consistency among pages, updating infoboxes, unifying all image heights/widths, unifying table columns, updating Double Bubble information, etc. I am so happy I decided to join after all, because it is an honor getting to work on such an amazing wiki!

I even logged on with my phone so I could do minor updates. I’ve already updated several of the descriptions in the Album section and all of the pages from A through E. I’ve done a lot since I started this post. When I started this I even got my 30 Days on the Wiki achievement while just the other day I got my 100 Days on the Wiki badge! A lot of this I had already written but I’ve decided to update the information as I’ve fallen more in love.

So, can a game really make someone happy? Of course it can! I find joy in the little things. But becoming a part of this wiki helped my happiness skyrocket! I look forward to coming home and seeing what new additions have been added. I look forward to getting up in the morning now so I can squeeze in a little more gameplay before I leave. It helps me get the day over quicker also because I help wish it away so I can come home and play sooner and jump on the Wiki quicker.

I thought I had a Discord once but couldn’t find any evidence of any previous logins so I signed up. After all, if I want to be part of the Wiki I need to become fully devoted on every aspect. And I’m so glad I did. Everyone on there is amazing. Their love for the game and helping the Wiki become the best is the greatest feeling. The level of camaraderie is superb. I truly feel surrounded by family there. Of course, they’re all members of this wiki making me feel surrounded by family no matter where I go. I commend everyone for helping create such a warm and inviting atmosphere!

So there’s that, but that isn’t the only reason the game is helping me to be a better person. I keep helping Maddie do work around the estate (I wish construction was as easy as merging a few items together!) and I’ve gotten a little envious, I won’t lie! So I’ve been doing a lot more work around my own property! I put in 3 post lights and plan on getting wire in the next week or so. I bought a new sliding door for my back patio. I’ve gotten up a lot of the junk around I’ve been meaning to for awhile. Helping Maddie is helping me at the same time.

I don’t see my interest subsiding any time soon; I still have so many areas to explore and history to learn. I definitely want to learn Ursula’s secrets, and make sure everything is properly worked into the Wiki. I love this game. I’ve even watched several videos on YouTube about it. I’ve done a plethora of research into the game, also. Put it this way, I love it so much I’ve already invested almost $250 into it. Between a Golden Key for the Christmas, Valentine’s, and Easter events and the money I’ve spent on gems, coins, and energy, yeah, it’s about $250! I have never in my life spent money on a game (and I’m 40)! So that’s another way you can tell I truly love this game. I want my mansion to be 100% finished in the end!

Will I ever finish my printed guide? Maybe, maybe not. So many events keep the content in a constant state of needing to be updated, but that doesn’t mean that perhaps old pages couldn’t be printed and new pages just added while others just be replaced when updated. I originally intended it to be a yearly wrap-up but an ongoing book may be just as nice. Just seeing a printed guide devoted to the game would be awesome!

Well guys, brevity was never a strong point of mine and it feels like my blog post is turning into a novella, so I’m going to jump off until my next blog post, but just know that I promise to give 100% to helping the Wiki become the most definitive and comprehensive guide ever devoted to a game. And know that something as simple as a game like Merge Mansion can truly invoke happiness. It’s not just a game, it’s a way of life!
